A

Possibly.

You may apply to the Trustee of your KiwiSaver Scheme for a withdrawal on the grounds of significant financial hardship to help pay your mortgage arrears. The Trustee will determine whether or not you meet the criteria for significant financial hardship and are eligible to withdraw on those grounds.

To apply, you can request a withdrawal application from your KiwiSaver provider.  You need to complete the form, have it witnessed and return it to your KiwiSaver provider along with any supporting documentation the Trustee has requested.

You may be able to withdraw up to the value of your own and any employer contributions – the government kick-start and member tax credits must remain in your KiwiSaver account.
