Everything that’s going on in the world economy makes me concerned for the money that I have invested in GM Kiwisaver. What is my safest option?

It all boils down to your tolerance for risk...

The “safest” option in terms of lowest volatility offered by GMK is the Conservative fund, which is mostly invested in term deposits and bonds.

But even our Conservative fund has a small exposure to world share markets (it can be up to 20%), so you will experience some volatility.

If you’re not comfortable with any exposure to world markets, you may be able to find a cash only option with one of the banks. Before you make the call though, have a read of the investment options information on our website.
